Exceptions to Medical Privacy
As important as medical privacy is, it should not be treated as an absolute. There
are a number of common exceptions to medical privacy.
While many of these exceptions are entirely acceptable, others raise
questions about whether they serve purposes important enough to overcome our
general preference for privacy protection consistent with the wishes of patients.
